Plastic, Plastic, Plastic!
This year has been one of the worst for plastic and debris washing onto our beaches. Local clean up crews have been overwhelmed with just how much rubbish there is - but there's many willing hands to beautify our beaches again!
Join your local Greens team during Tangaroa Blue's weekend of action to clean up Waikiki beach, learn about microplastics and what you can do to reduce the scurge in our oceans.
Where: Waikiki Beach, Waikiki/Safety Bay in Perth's southern suburbs.
When: Sunday 17th October at 9:30am - 11:30am, then stay for the "the count" to see how big our haul is!
Meet: At Waikiki foreshore reserve car park, Safety Bay Road, near Malibu Road, Safety Bay. Look for The Greens beach cleanup sign.
Bring: Protective sunwear, sunscreen, water, snacks/lunch, bags to put the rubbish in, gloves and enclosed footwear. And your smile! If you have a Greens shirt, pop that on too!
Some bags and gloves will be available, but please bring your own if you can as there may not be enough.
All attendees must be registered for insurance purposes.
