Join Lynda-June Coe to yarn about reconciliation and how to build allyship
Join us this Reconciliation Week for an important conversation about the politics of reconciliation, truth-telling, and how we build meaningful allyship in our communities and movements.
This online panel brings together First Nations activists, organisers, artists, and political leaders to discuss the significance of Reconciliation Week, the challenges facing First Nations communities, and the role allies can play in creating lasting change.
The discussion will be facilitated by Jenny Leong MP, Member for Newtown and NSW Greens spokesperson for Human Rights & Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Racism.
Panel speakers include:
-
Lynda-June Coe — Wiradjuri and Badu Island woman from Erambie Mission and Greens Upper House candidate for the 2027 NSW State Election.
-
Lizzie Jarrett — activist, educator, poet, artist, and proud woman from the Gumbaynggirr, Bundjalung, and Dunghutti clans, who advocates for justice and empowerment through community organising, art, music, and activism.
-
Jordan Hennessey — Bidiagal Dharawal Yuin Koori and Wakka Wakka Gamilaroi Murri activist from La Perouse/Gamay.
-
Vanessa Turnbull-Roberts is a proud Bundjalung Widubul Wiabul woman, human rights advocate, lawyer, author, writer, and survivor advocate. She is a respected and authoritative voice on the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
This event is an opportunity to listen, learn, reflect, and engage in a thoughtful discussion about solidarity, justice, and what genuine allyship looks like in practice.
We encourage everyone committed to justice, truth-telling, and reconciliation to attend.
