Join our casual volunteer book club on political organising!

Welcome!

The Organisers’ Book Club is for Greens Party members to learn more about organising, politics,  and how to make political change.

Book is decided by attendees of the most recent meeting. Recommended books should be engaging, not too dense or long, and connected to progressive politics and organising. None of these books are an endorsement of our views - we might even read things we disagree with!

Book: Rules for Revolutionaries by Becky Bond and Zack Exley | RSVP to borrow an online copy, buy it locally, or here

About the book: Rules for Revolutionaries is an influential text on electoral mobilising from two key campaigners from the Bernie's Sander's campaign in the US Democratic Presidential Primary. It's a fairly engaging book and quick read, dealing with some of the key techniques used during the quite technology-driven team that delivered record electoral mobilising and turned a little-name Senator into a political movement.

Accessibility: There is one small step into the venue, and two ground floor bathrooms. Please flag any extra accessibility needs in your RSVP form and we'll figure it all out!

Public Transport: Route 11 & 86 Trams, and the 200 & 207 bus both drop very close to the venue.

In-person only: This is currently only an in-person event. If you'd like to participate in or facilitate an online version of the book club, please email jon.kowski@vic.greens.org.au
